Skills and Strengths
Analytical and Technical

R
Novice level experience. Most of my experience comes in a classroom setting with classes such as Data Wrangling with R and Introduction to Data Analytics both at SUNY New Paltz. I have also taken some LinkedIn learning courses as well. I am continuing to take online courses to build this skill.

Python
Intermediate level experience. Most of my experience comes in a classroom setting as well. A good chunk of my classes at Stevens have used Python. This is also the programming language we use the most on our Baseball Analytics team. More comfortability than R as I have used it more recently and frequently. I understand the libraries, functions, and syntax when looking at it but struggle to build a model from scratch. I am also actively working on this skill as well.

SQL
Slightly above an intermediate level ability. I took a database management course at New Paltz as well as a LinkedIn Learning course recently. I definitely feel comfortable using SQL when looking at data. I continue building this skill on my own routinely each week.

Microsoft Office
Advanced level experience with all of Microsoft Office Suite. Use on a regular basis at school, our Baseball Analytics team, and with both the Mets and Islanders. I've created a Run Expectancy Matrix, Inventory Management System, and Revenue Reports using Excel and feel very comfortable doing so.
Tableau
Beginner level experience. It has been a few years since exposed, but feel comfortable nonetheless. I've used it both in a classroom setting at Stevens as well as during my time with the Islanders.

GitHub
Beginner level experience. I've used it in the past but fairly irregularly. I feel comfortable navigating and accessing as our Baseball Analytics team had their own GitHub page. I am continuing to build this skill and possibly create my own GitHub page as well.
Baseball

Rapsodo
Advanced level understanding. I hold a Pitching Certification from Rapsodo and use it regularly with our pitchers at Stevens. We have the 3.0 and it is my job during bullpens to set up and analyze the pitch tracking data, make it make sense to the extent necessary for players, and use it to help our pitchers with pitch design on the fly.
Player Evaluation
Through multiple projects, which can be found on this website, I have found my own way of what works best when evaluating players. I also have true hands on experience with evaluating players at Stevens as I am involved in roster, lineup, pitching and all playing time decisions. I have to bring a completely objective and unbiased analysis to the table when it comes to these decisions. Throughout the projects and hands on experience I feel as though I have a very strong foundation in player analysis and evaluation.

Blast Motion
Advanced level understanding. I also hold a certification from Blast Motion. All of our our hitters at Stevens each have their own sensor. It is part of my responsibility in conjunction with our hitting coaches to analyze the data, make sure players have access and understand the data, and use it in our player development programs.

Player Development
I oversee all of our player development and baseball analytics at Stevens. I designed the player development report template each player received at the end of the fall. I work directly with our hitting coaches to make sure there is a plan in place for our offensive guys and even more closely with our pitching coach and pitchers. Every player has their own plan of what they need to work on and how we are going to get them there and it is my responsibility to oversee that process and make sure everyone is on the same page.
AWRE
Recently installed at Stevens this November, we use the AWRE camera system to record all games and practices. It is my responsibility to organize all video so players have access to their own and team video. I am continuing to get more and more comfortable with the software each day.
Scouting/Game Strategy
Last year as a performance analyst, I wrote some opponent scouting reports. This year I will be taking on a bigger role in this department as, now in the dugout, I will be involved in game strategy based off the advance scouting reports. It will be my responsibility to write some of the scouting reports, and game plan off the reports I write from a pitch calling and defensive alignment perspective. I have also been more exposed to the recruiting side of the team and what we look for as I have taken on a coaching role.
